- Request teacher recommendations at least one month prior to application deadline. (Counselors are not responsible for recommendations sent directly by teachers to the colleges.)

- Be sure to copy your applications on your own prior to mailing to colleges.
- Bring any cards or letters from colleges with additional requests to the Guidance office.
- Thank you notes should be sent to those who wrote your teacher recommendations and to organizations or individuals who sponsor scholarships you may have been offered or presented with.

Guidance services:
♦ Students will engage in an ongoing discussion regarding college selection and process with his/her counselor.
♦ Counselors will sponsor a College Planning Night (junior year) and Financial Aid Night (senior year). ♦ A counselor recommendation will be written for each senior who requests one.
♦ Applications will be submitted by the student not the Guidance office. A transcript request must be completed by the student and submitted to Mrs. Burnett. At that time a packet will be assembled including an official transcript including the most recent SAT scores, counselor recommendation, the counselor section of the application if applicable, and a school profile.
♦ Mid year grades will be mailed to all colleges by student request. Student needs to give the Guidance office any college-based mid-year request form if provided with application.
♦ A final official transcript (with date of graduation) will be mailed, by student request to the college they will be attending the following fall.
